Dear friends,
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the love, generosity, and support you have extended to Kacperek and our family. Thanks to your kindness, Kacperek has successfully undergone his surgery, and we are thrilled that everything went well. However, the journey to recovery is still ongoing, and we face many challenges ahead. Please continue to stand by us and keep your hearts open to our son’s ongoing battle for his health and well-being. Your support means everything to us.
Our Journey:

From the moment Kacperek entered the world, nothing unfolded as we had envisioned. We were unable to meet him, hold him, or even see him. Instead, our son was immediately taken to the intensive care unit. His condition was critical, and our lives were turned upside down.
We were swiftly moved to the Children’s Health Center, where the true fight for Kacperek’s life began. For the first 11 days, he battled in intensive care, facing severe respiratory failure, a skull fracture, and a subperiosteal hematoma. Our hearts shattered as we witnessed his struggle, but we had no choice but to keep fighting, holding onto hope for a miracle.
Gradually, our son began to show signs of improvement. He won his first battle for life, and we celebrated every small victory. However, fate had more challenges in store for us. We were dealt another devastating blow: the doctors suspected malignant tumors in both of Kacperek’s eyes.

Fortunately, after further examinations, we received the astonishing news that the diagnosis was incorrect. Yet, our relief was short-lived. That same day, we learned that Kacperek had significant retinal detachment and multiple vitreous hemorrhages in both eyes. The doctors indicated that the most likely cause was a genetic disorder, one that could not be treated in Poland.
At that moment, we understood that Kacperek’s only hope lay in costly surgery abroad. Doctors in Poland offered no solutions. It was a crushing realization, but we refused to give up.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of many of you, we managed to raise the necessary funds to seek treatment outside of Poland. Kacperek underwent his surgery, and we are eternally grateful for the chance to provide him with a better future.

Today, we are witnessing some signs of progress. Kacperek is responding to light, which fills us with hope. However, the journey is far from complete. We are still awaiting the results of genetic testing to determine exactly what Kacperek is facing. These tests will help us understand if our son has Norrie disease or another condition that may be impacting his vision.
As we anxiously await the results, we also look forward to our return trips to London for check-ups in January and March. These visits will help us understand the next steps in Kacperek’s treatment and recovery. We’ve taken the first and most crucial step, but there is still much to be accomplished.
The Fight Continues:
Kacperek’s recovery necessitates ongoing rehabilitation, specialized support, frequent check-ups, and constant care. All of this comes at a significant cost, and despite our achievements thus far, we cannot afford to stop now. We cannot let everything we’ve fought for be in vain.
We kindly ask for your continued assistance. Your support is vital for Kacperek to continue his healing journey. Every donation, every act of kindness, makes a real difference in his life. We are determined to fight for him and ensure that he has the best chance at a brighter future.
We are profoundly grateful for all that you have done and continue to do for our son. Please stay with us as we navigate this challenging path. Your love and generosity provide us with the strength to persevere.
With all our hearts, thank you.
