Parenthood brings immense joy, love, and hope. From the moment I first held my daughter, Selina, I realized my life had changed forever. My pregnancy was smooth, her birth was natural and uncomplicated, and she was a healthy, lively baby. I treasured every milestone—her first steps, her first words, and the countless hours spent breastfeeding her, watching her grow with curiosity and vitality. Life was beautiful, and our family was filled with laughter and happiness.
However, life can change in an instant. Selina was a joyful toddler, running, laughing, and attending preschool when we began to notice something was amiss. She developed a fever, her face and abdomen swelled, and she lost her appetite. She became pale, and her condition worsened quickly. Initially, I thought it was just a minor illness, perhaps the flu, but as days passed, it became evident that something much more serious was affecting my daughter. Blood tests revealed blast cells, and the diagnosis shattered our world: acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

At just 2 years and 3 months old, Selina’s life—and ours—was irrevocably altered by this devastating illness. Our daily routine vanished, replaced by hospital stays, chemotherapy cycles, and endless uncertainty. Intensive treatment commenced immediately. We spent forty grueling days in the hospital, and the following months were filled with pain, fear, and relentless struggle. Selina underwent sixteen cycles of chemotherapy, enduring the side effects, discomfort, and emotional toll of such a demanding regimen. Despite this, after eight months, the disease relapsed, plunging our family back into fear and uncertainty.
As a medical professional, I understand the limitations of chemotherapy in relapsed cases. I knew that to give my daughter a real chance at life, we needed a bone marrow transplant, specialized treatments, and access to the most advanced medical care available. I could not allow Selina to endure another round of chemotherapy in our country when better options existed elsewhere. After careful consideration, I decided to pursue treatment in Israel, a country renowned for its pediatric oncology care, where innovative therapies and life-saving procedures are available.

With determination and support, we began our journey. After significant effort, fundraising, and planning, we managed to secure visas and travel to Israel. There, Selina underwent further diagnostic tests, including a bone marrow biopsy, a CT scan, and port insertion to prepare for intensive therapy. She now faces a new and challenging path: immunotherapy, which offers hope for remission and a future beyond this disease.
However, this hope comes with immense costs. The treatment in Israel is extraordinarily expensive, far beyond what we can manage alone. Every day, we are confronted with mounting medical bills, therapy costs, and daily living expenses while we focus all our energy on supporting Selina through her fight. Despite the financial and emotional strain, our determination to save her life has never wavered. Every contribution, every gesture of support, and every donation brings us one step closer to ensuring she receives the care she needs.
Selina is a brave, resilient child. Each day, she fights, smiles, and shows courage beyond her years. Every small victory—eating, playing, or simply interacting with her surroundings—is a triumph that strengthens our hope and determination. As her mother, I witness her struggle and resilience firsthand, and it fuels my commitment to do everything possible to secure her future.
We appeal to everyone who can help. Your generosity is more than financial support—it is hope, it is the chance for Selina to live, to grow, and to experience the joys of childhood that every child deserves. Every złoty, every prayer, and every act of kindness brings life-saving treatment within reach and provides us with the strength to continue fighting.
Selina’s journey is a testament to courage, resilience, and the extraordinary will to live that children possess. It is also a reminder that even in the face of devastating illness, hope can thrive when communities come together to support those in need. Please, help us give Selina a chance to survive, to smile, and to have a future full of life, love, and happiness.
