Manchester United preparing a formal £105 million offer for South American striker
Manchester United is reportedly ready to submit an official offer worth £105 million for Brazilian winger Raphinha from Barcelona, aiming to strengthen their attack for the 2026–27 season.
According to reports, United’s leadership views Raphinha as their top target in the upcoming transfer window. After parting ways with several attacking names such as Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho, manager Rúben Amorim wants a fast, skillful winger to complete his 3-4-2-1 system at Old Trafford. Raphinha, with his pace and ability to play on both wings, perfectly fits that plan.
The 28-year-old is currently enjoying the best form of his career. Last season, he scored 34 goals and provided 22 assists in all competitions, contributing greatly to Barcelona’s domestic treble. His outstanding performance also helped him finish among the top five nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
Although he has recently dealt with a minor injury, Raphinha remains one of Europe’s most dangerous attackers, recording 3 goals and 2 assists in just 6 La Liga appearances this season.
Manchester United is said to be ready to spend around £105 million to convince Barcelona to sell. While his contract runs until 2028, the Catalan club’s financial issues could force them to consider offers above that price. Sources suggest that a bid exceeding £100 million would make Barcelona seriously think about letting him go.

From the player’s perspective, a return to the Premier League is something Raphinha has always dreamed of. He previously impressed during his time at Leeds United, showcasing energy, creativity, and strong finishing ability.
However, Raphinha reportedly only wants to leave Barcelona if Manchester United can secure Champions League qualification, which is an important factor in his decision.
Under Amorim’s leadership, United are rebuilding their squad, with signings like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo breathing new life into their attack. Still, to return to the Premier League’s top four and compete for titles, the Red Devils need a true star who can make a consistent impact.
If this deal goes through, Raphinha would become one of Manchester United’s most expensive signings ever, marking a new era in the club’s ambition to restore their dominance in Europe. This would not only be a financial statement but also a bold declaration of intent from the Red Devils.
