A diagnosis we will never forget—brain tumor. For us, these words marked the beginning of a long, uncertain journey. Our son, Kubuś, was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a type of brain cancer, and although he bravely fought and overcame the tumor, the aftermath of his surgery presented a new battle. The journey that followed has been filled with pain, hope, and relentless determination.
Kubuś’s surgery to remove the medulloblastoma was successful, but it came with significant consequences. The complications that followed were devastating. My once vibrant son, full of energy and life, stopped eating. He was diagnosed with paralysis and ceased to speak altogether. Additionally, strabismus, or crossed eyes, developed. We soon realized that the fight we had ahead of us was far from over. The battle with cancer wasn’t just about removing the tumor; it was about rebuilding the life Kubuś had before it all began.

The chemotherapy, which was intended to save him, instead ravaged his body from the inside out. It stripped away his strength, health, and innocence. Each step he took in recovery became a painful reminder that the war against cancer left scars far beyond what we could see.
Despite all this, Kubuś’s strength never faltered. He underwent two eye surgeries to correct the strabismus, with another surgery on the horizon. Chemotherapy has also led to severe dental issues, necessitating ongoing treatment. Yet, through it all, Kubuś has demonstrated remarkable resilience. With consistent rehabilitation, he is beginning to regain movement in his hand, but balance remains a significant challenge. When he falls, he cannot get up on his own, and even basic daily tasks can feel like insurmountable obstacles for him.

Kubuś attends preschool every day. Despite everything, he is excelling in his studies and brightens the room with his presence. However, the reality of our situation hits hard every time we visit oncology for check-ups. Every few months, we travel for these appointments, knowing they are essential to ensure the cancer hasn’t returned. We also regularly participate in hippotherapy, which Kubuś enjoys. It’s a small victory that brings us joy amid our struggles. Yet, despite the progress, it is evident that his journey is far from over.
Speech therapy, physiotherapy, and constant support from specialists are vital. Kubuś’s appetite has never returned after the surgery, making every meal a struggle. He has difficulty keeping food down, and the process often results in vomiting. It breaks my heart to witness him face such a simple yet essential task with such difficulty. As a parent, there is nothing worse than watching your child endure this pain and knowing that there’s little you can do to alleviate it.

While we celebrate the progress Kubuś has made, I cannot overlook the harsh reality: we need support. Every day is a fight for a better tomorrow, and we are doing everything we can to provide Kubuś with a future where he can walk, talk, and live a life that feels normal again. However, the cost of ongoing treatment, therapies, and hospital visits is overwhelming. Each month brings new expenses—doctor’s appointments, rehabilitation trips, specialized equipment, and more. Our resources are stretched thin, and the emotional toll is equally heavy.
I’m reaching out for help because I cannot do this alone. We cannot afford all the treatments Kubuś urgently needs to continue his progress. Every single donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to securing the rehabilitation and resources Kubuś needs to keep fighting. I dream of the day when he can run, play, and smile without the shadow of cancer looming over him. But for that, we need your assistance.

Please join us in the fight for our son’s future. Your generosity and kindness will make a difference, giving Kubuś a chance to continue his recovery, regain his mobility, and ultimately lead a life filled with happiness and independence. We believe in his strength, and with your help, we know he can reach his full potential.
Thank you for being a part of our journey. Your support means everything to us and gives us hope for the future. Together, we can turn this fight into a victory.
