It brings immense joy to share this wonderful news — Camilo is feeling significantly better! After weeks filled with prayers, medical procedures, and unwavering determination, this courageous boy is finally making progress in his recovery.
Today was a significant milestone: Camilo’s last day of antibiotics. 🙌 His G-tube site is healing wonderfully, and an ultrasound revealed the best news of all — the infection has completely cleared, with no remaining issues. Even his stool test for blood returned negative, bringing a wave of relief and gratitude.
Words cannot fully express the strength, patience, and faith it took to reach this point. Over the past few weeks, Camilo has faced numerous challenges — pausing his feeds, stopping his blood thinner (Lovenox), and receiving two rounds of G-CSF injections to help boost his neutrophil count so his body could combat the infection. Each day presented new hurdles, but throughout it all, Camilo’s medical team, his family, and a community of prayer warriors stood by him.

Now, as his smile returns and his energy increases, it’s evident that those prayers have been answered. 💛
Tomorrow marks another crucial step — Camilo’s endoscopy. The gastroenterology team will closely examine why he struggles to tolerate larger feed volumes and experiences early fullness. During the procedure, they will also take a few biopsies to gain more insight into his digestive tract.
Simultaneously, immunology specialists will collect additional samples to test for CVID (Common Variable Immunodeficiency Disease) — a condition suspected before Camilo’s heart transplant but needing evaluation afterward. His IgG and IgE levels have consistently remained low, and given his pattern of recurrent bacterial infections, doctors hope this testing will provide clarity and guide future care.

Once the endoscopy is completed, the plan is to carefully restart his feeds, reintroduce Lovenox to manage his blood clot, and continue G-CSF injections if necessary. There are concerns that G-CSF may be contributing to gut irritation, so his team will monitor closely as they adjust his medications.
But for now — and this feels nothing short of miraculous — Camilo’s smile is back. His laughter fills the halls once more. He’s walking, talking, and rediscovering the joy that was briefly overshadowed by infection and fatigue.
For his family, witnessing him like this is a precious gift — one they cherish deeply. Every small step, every laugh, every peaceful night feels like a testament to God’s grace.
“We’re just so thankful to see Camilo’s smile and energy returning,” his family shared. “His spirits are high, he’s roaming the halls again, and we’re ready to keep moving forward in his recovery.”

This isn’t the conclusion of the journey — there are still questions to address, procedures to undergo, and careful steps to take. But today, hope feels stronger than fear. Healing seems closer than ever.
Camilo’s story is one of faith and resilience — a reminder that miracles often manifest not all at once, but through steady, quiet victories: a clear scan, a healed incision, a little boy laughing again.
Through every setback, his community has supported him with love and prayer. Every message, every word of encouragement has fueled his family’s strength.
“Thank you all for your constant support, prayers, and uplifting words,” they expressed. “They truly carry us through. Your love, encouragement, and faith mean more than you know. We are blessed. God is great.” 💛🙏

Indeed, God is great — and so is the bravery of a little boy with a mighty heart.
Camilo has already faced more than most do in a lifetime, yet his spirit remains unbroken. He continues to greet each new day with gratitude, courage, and that radiant smile that says, “I’m not giving up.”
As Camilo prepares for tomorrow’s procedure, his family, friends, and all who have followed his journey are once again united in hope and prayer — praying for steady hands, clear answers, and ongoing healing.
Because this story isn’t just about recovery — it’s about resilience, faith, and love that refuses to quit.
💛 Keep shining, Camilo. Keep fighting.
We’re all cheering you on — today, tomorrow, and every step of the way.
