This condition prevents the left side of the heart from effectively pumping oxygen-rich blood to the body, leading to a series of serious health challenges. To make matters even more complex, Myles also has an unbalanced AVSD, a defect in the heart’s center that involves holes between the upper chambers (atria) and lower chambers (ventricles), along with abnormalities of the valves that control blood flow between these chambers.
Together, these conditions require an ongoing series of complex surgeries and intensive cardiac care to support heart function and maintain overall health.
