Wiktor’s journey began with a challenging birth. He spent the first two months of his life in the hospital, his fragile body battling for survival. Wiktor was diagnosed with Treacher Collins Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that leads to facial deformities. In addition, he suffers from a cleft palate, severe breathing difficulties, and bilateral hearing loss. From birth, a tracheostomy tube was inserted to aid his breathing. While it was a lifesaving measure, it also meant that Wiktor would face numerous surgeries, therapies, and challenges as he matures.
His strength is remarkable, and every small progress is a triumph, but there is still so much he requires — far more than the National Health Fund (NFZ) can offer. The waiting lists are extensive, and private care is financially unattainable for his family.

Wiktor is not alone in this battle. His sisters, Mia, Amelka, and Vanessa, each face their own health challenges that necessitate care, treatment, and surgeries.

Mia has a mild genetic disorder and also experiences hearing loss, requiring specialized attention. She has been referred to a specialist clinic, and her family is awaiting the results of further evaluations. The path ahead is long, with more diagnoses, therapies, and medical appointments on the horizon.
Vanessa, the youngest sibling, has also been diagnosed with a mild genetic defect. During the second trimester of her pregnancy, doctors identified a heart defect. Vanessa will require multiple heart surgeries as she grows, and doctors have also discovered that her nostrils are closed, which may complicate her breathing. The family is collaborating closely with specialists in Warsaw to determine the best course of action.
